Which matrix server are you logged in to? Is it up? Can you access your account from other clients or riot.im in a browser? |

You can try open the browser console and see what errors show up. Keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+ ↑+i |

That is correct. Nothing opens, still the spinning wheel. Found another guy who has the same problem, he is going to wipe his installation. |

Yeah I would say that's basically the only way to fix it. Sorry. No idea why one client wouldn't work while you have several other that continued working just fine. |

Try pressing ALT to bring up the menu then go to View -> Toggle Developer Tools. From there, take a look at the console for any red text. |

Also, it did work at the beginning on that computer. EDIT: Now i'm thinking about it, it could be that the problem occured somewhere around the time i updated to 1803. But tbh - i'm not sure. |

Getting the same error on Win7 desktop. There's also another error with config..json missing (notice the double ..), but manually correcting that (changing config.json -> config..json) does not fix the main problem This is on an older Win7 SP1 install, mind you. Things have been kinda wonky since 0.17.6 (very slow ajax, lagging to send messages, picture upload fails regularly etc). Before replicating the error i cleared out all previous versions from C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Local/riot/ and installed a fresh copy from riot.im In general i get the same error starting with: bundle.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of null Full error log from dev console: Meanwhile in the network tab status keeps updating and "things seem to be running" |

Same problem here on one machine. All other machines are OK, Riot-Web is fine on multiple machines. Riot-Android also OK. |

After uninstalling Riot in windows with "Programs and Features" and deleteting %appdata%\riot and reinstalling Riot Setup 0.17.8 it seems to work again. I cannot not connect but that can be because of some proxy-problem. At least it Riot starts again. |

I'm also having an infinite loading problem on one of the machines in my studio. They are using the Windows 0.17.8 version of Riot, but the problem first started on the 0.13.5 version. I wonder if it's some kind of user data corruption that originated in the old client? Based on the log it seems like the user does actually log in, but then we see that the client attempts to get the user presence information and fails with After this it seems like the client attempts to log out but also fails because of a token error. Happens to me several times per week, since a very long time now (even before Riot was renamed Element!) Here is what is looks like: The way for me to know that it's stuck is that there is no link to disconnect at the bottom of the loading screen, while there is one when everything is going as it should. |

I have the same problem like @Ezwen. Also for a while already. Also same logs. Some fonts can't be loaded. I have to completely quit Element and start it again. Then it starts normally. What I realize is that in our case there is no logout button at startup. When I don't see logout button I pretty much know I have to restart Element. |

I've personally no longer encountered this issue since upgrading to Pop!_OS 22.04. |
Description
When opening riot on my Windows 10 Desktop it shows a blank screen, a spinner in the middle and "logout" at the bottom. The symbol also shows "1 new message" but nothing happens, no matter how long i wait.
I'm starting with a .cmd with --proxy-server= included. I also tried without it, same bug.
Steps to reproduce
Log: sent/not sent? Not sent as its not possible.

For the desktop app:
Do i have to delete the whole riot and reinstall again, resulting in losing my keys and so on?
(Its working on: Android, Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu (both, 2 different computers. So, no clue.)
