What Happened

After logging in, when I put the computer to sleep then wake it up, it displays the desktop exactly how it was before I put the computer to sleep and it's frozen.

Expected Behavior

Login screen shows up, allowing to sign in and resume the session.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Login
  2. Press the "Suspend" button
  3. Wake up the computer

I uninstalled the nvidia-driver-470 GPU driver via AppCenter and now the issue doesn't happen anymore.

There are some black screen flashes on the desktop before showing the login screen though.

It doesn't look like the same issue to me. In #1126 only the cursor is visible, in mine, I can see the cursor and the desktop (with the background, windows that were open before locking the computer and everything).

They login then see a black screen, I can't even login but I see how my desktop looked before I locked my computer

Something similar is happening to me. I can't confirm if its the same issue. The desktop freezes for a few seconds after locking the system (meta + L) and then unfreezes. The same happens when change tty and then switch back (ctrl + alt + f6 then ctrl + alt + f7). The system takes a while(sometimes more than 10 seconds) to recognize inputs (only the cursor moves).

I dont have nvidia drivers as I dont have a nvidia gpu. So its probably not related to the nvidia driver specifically?
