It doesn't even appear in the Networks section and no matter what I do I can't connect to nor create a WiFi network. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite

Please submit the output of lspci, iwconfig and nmcli dev.

Does seem like driver issues and OP never responded with more information, so I'd say this can be closed.
