link-to-external-component not active for child routes #561

It appears that link-to-external-component no longer stays active for child routes within an engine.

Ideally we have an active-ancestor class or something along those lines.

Let me know if there's anything I've missed.

Could you provide a failing test? That would help addressing this issue.
