Provides additional features that are not yet available in the OpenSSL standard library. The features of this gem are derived from ruby-openssl. Stable features will be exported to this gem to make them available instantly.
Download the sources and extract them in a directory. Enter this directory and run ‘rake gem’. Then switch to the output folder and run ‘gem install openssl-ext-x.x.x.gem’. Please note that you need OpenSSL >= 1.0.0 installed to use this gem. If you have a custom installation of OpenSSL, you may want to install the gem with providing the proper path to OpenSSL: ‘gem install openssl-ext-x.x.x.gem – –with-openssl-dir=<path to openssl>’
