I think this is because vid_get_viewport_live_fb is not yet implemented.

I'm not sure how to implement it, I haven't found any examples from recent cameras, and on older cameras (e.g. ixus95) that part (LiveImage.c) has changed significantly, so it's not obvious how to adapt it.

See vid_get_viewport_live_fb in G12 and SX30:
Values below found by searching firmware for references & usage of viewport buffer address then experimenting to see what gave best Motion Detector speed results using http://dataghost.com/chdk/md_meter.html
