Rainbows-And-Pwnies-Tables README Last Update 06 NOV 2011 endeavor at rainbowsandpwnies dot com /********** * WARNING * **********/ The format for the rainbow tables has not yet been finalized. If you generate tables, there is a good chance you will not be able to use them with future revisions of Rainbows-And-Pwnies-Tables. If you're looking to generate large tables, either pick another rainbow tables implementation or wait for this format to stabilize. /************** * DESCRIPTION * **************/ This implementation of rainbow tables has been specifically engineered to take advantage of a few discoveries in rainbow tables. While I'm not going to go into the specifics here, a few things you should know about these tables: - Supports markov chains - Incremental construction of perfect rainbow tables, removing merges during generation. Other features: - Threaded. Automatically uses all available CPUs. - NT, MD4 and MD5 hashes /*************** * REQUIREMENTS * ***************/ scons http://www.scons.org/ Uses pthread (POSIX Threads). I'm not sure how Windows users will fare. /******** * USAGE * ********/ // TABLE GENERATION rtgen -c abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz -f loweralpha5_nt.chains -l 2000 -p 5 -n 100000 -t 3 -d 200 // HASH CRACKING rtcrack -c abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz -f loweralpha5_nt.chains -p 5 -t 3 bfd34579544f3f2faf0ece6dc4d24649 // TOOLS AVAILABLE rtcrack - crack a hash with existing rainbow tables rtextend - extend an existing rainbow table to a new length rtgen - generate a new rainbow tables rtinfo - print info about a rainbow table rtmerge - merge two rainbow tables together rtprint - print the chains in a rainbow table (for debugging)
