This seems like it pretty much works the same way as https://github.com/mweststrate/immer? Am I missing something?

I think it is mostly the same, this is created before immer.

There was no "immer" - doch !
This lib has no PR, but probably does the same. For us it is important, that it plays perfectly with TypeScript.
