During the QA/QC session today, we realized that a requirement for the overstory census species pick list was overlooked. When overstory trees are measured in forest and woodland plots, Quercus gambelii (QUEGAM) is considered to be an overstory tree when the diameter is > 15 cm. However, QUEGAM is defined as a shrub in the plants table and is considered a shrub for all other measurements, so it is currently not included in the overstory pick list. So if you could look into how best to include QUEGAM in the overstory pick list, that would be great. Note that this should not be needed until they monitor forest and woodland plots, so this is not something we need to accommodate immediately.

The modification which limits the picklist to the Tree Lifeform was implemented for:
LP Seedling
OT Sapling
OT Census

QUEGAM is only needed in the OT census pick list.

And just to clarify my previous email, QUEGAM should display in the OT census pick list for all plot types. I mentioned forest and woodland plots in my previous message, but QUEGAM is also measured in oak plots, and it is my understanding that the crew will record trees if they find them on grassland plots.
