It seems like it would be a good idea to add a README to .github/workflows to cover what is present and what everything does. In the first instance gathering good examples of these seems like a useful activity as we don't want to duplicate what is in the actual workflow files themselves.

Idea was @Bisaloo in #386 (comment).

I'm obviously biased but I think a good minimal example, among others, could be:
