Erik,

I really like your theme. I'm having problems with Disqus, however. Most of the text is rendered white and is thus unreadable. I know the styles are set by Disqus, but I was hoping you could point me the right direction.

Thanks,
Esteban

I have noticed the same thing on my blog.
I had to deactivate the Disqus 2012 additions to be able to "fix" the CSS issues.

@pacbard can you explain what you have done ? On Disqus ? On your site ?
Thanks

Go to your website's Disqus settings: http://yoursite.disqus.com/admin/settings/
The first option you will see is

Disqus 2012 "Enable Disqus 2012 features for your site." I unchecked it and the comments fixed themselves. They even follow the theme's colors.

If you want to customize them more, you can use a custom CSS sheet here: http://yoursite.disqus.com/admin/settings/appearance/ (at the very bottom of the page)

There is also a more detailed guide on Disqus

@pacbard Thanks
@earaya I'll try to hack something together to make it work with the 2012 Disqus features as well.

I finally got to upgrade the disqus to 2012.
I changed the "Auto" setting to "Light Background" and it looks ok..

That's in Settings -> Appearance -> Color Scheme

1. Due to my poor knowledge in CSS, it took me long to discover
`sass/custom/_styles.scss' caused the title of each post to be yellow.
I actually installed the "classic" theme again and copied Zaadi's SCSS
files for his Solarized theme for Octopress on GitHub from
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/erikzaadi/solarized-octopress-theme/master/sass/custom/_colors.scss

2. Disqus has been embedded, after "resolving" some problems in the
appearance of the resulting site. Simply following the description on
erikzaadi/solarized-octopress-theme#1 doesn't
work for me. Finally, I tested `sass/custom/_colors.scss' bit by bit
and found out a way: add a zero to `$text-color: $base0;'.
