Kinda confused with TokenIgnores I am not sure if I am doing something wrong

I am trying to use this for norg files and I am trying to ignore links which exist between { and } characters. This is my .vale.ini:

StylesPath = styles

MinAlertLevel = suggestion

Packages = RedHat, proselint, Readability, write-good

[*]
BasedOnStyles = Vale, RedHat, proselint, Readability, write-good

write-good.E-Prime = NO

TokenIgnores = (\](\{.+\}))

which I have verified is the correct regex, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect on any of the links I have in my document.
RedHat seems to be the style coming up the most with errors, do I need to escape it differently?

Markup related features (ignore patterns, comments, scoping, etc.) only work on supported file formats.

Ah I see, I had assumed that was for automatic features, not for adding in your own matching. Is that ever going to be on the roadmap to add in your own matching for strange or obscure file formats?
