The code LGTM. Just a note that we currently enable access token availability to just specific repositories instead of all of them. I went ahead and updated MASTODON_ACCESS_TOKEN to be available in this repo as well (MASTODON_HOST is not sensitive so it's available to all repos).
So when we roll out to other repos, we just need to remember to enable access to the various secrets used in the workflows.
