This is a function we do not support (yet).
There is a plugin for a special version of etherpad that enables this functionality: https://github.com/JohnMcLear/ep_copy_paste_images
@JohnMcLear What about adding this functionality to the etherpad core?

@Gared it's way too buggy and requires way too much time to implement right now, that's my main reason I haven't implemented it fully.

@JohnMcLear: is it challenging to paste an image from the clipboard into Etherpad because of its collaborative nature, or into any WYSIWYG editor, period, although Imgur, Slack, GitHub, Google Docs, StackExchange and others do just that?

I'm comparing WYSIWYG editors and have been looking for this feature.
