Was unsure what the correct branch is to merge in fixes for v0.6.1. I can re-open to another branch if necessary.
These are just some minor fixes to correct the configs, and make the test-generators work as they should.
I had this branch open for a while, and communicated it with Danny, but I don't think it was picked up, and now we have duplicate (but incomplete) fixes to dev: #1005
Let's fix it for v0.6.1, and then have the backport (#1003) get it into dev.
