Ethereum Node needs to sync, please wait.....

Version: 0.8.10
OS & Version: windows 8.1
Node type: eth/geth

When attempting to launch wallet or Mist, I get the error eventually, "Etherium Node needs to sync, please wait..." After waiting several minutes, still does nothing. I reboot desktop PC. Still nothing, same message. I check and confirm internet time is synched (enable it off and on). Reboot desktop PC. Still same message.

I run geth.exe --fast -- cache 1024 in cmd window (Admin mode), and it still fails doing the synchronization.

Sorry, not sure what else is missing or the problem here. I did read the support guide for Mist and Wallet, still not seeing where the problem is and how to resolve.

So, after a few minutes, the command window shows it's importing block receipts, headers and entries. Has been going on for about 40 minutes so far....

I'm also having a terrible time. I've synced the time, rebooted, cleared the chaindata, still nothing.

This is what I see when I run geth.exe:

It took awhile before it actually started to synch. I think it took almost an hour on my win pc. But it finally started to synch which took about 45 mins the very first time.

Ok, thanks. I'm going to install on another machine in a different location and see if that helps at all.
