Version: `0.9.0`
OS & Version: windows
Node type: `geth`
Number of blocks synchronized: 4.068.189

All settings from before the update are lost.
Including.
Watched contracts
Watched tokens
My own wallet on the main account
Imported account from Parity

I can add them again and after closing Ethereum wallet starts up blank again with only the main account.

Ok, it seems like an Indexed DB problem.

First of all, try quitting every Mist and Ethereum Wallet instances. Then reopen Mist (or wallet) and see if they appear well.

If that doesn't help, please open the console Develop > Developer Tools > Ethereum Wallet, Console tab and take a screenshot of the error.

Thanks for reporting

Same issue, lost my old contracts.

Also if you're watching TOKENS and restart the application, they will be gone.

One thing I noticed: Mist works fine. Ethereum Wallet is losing the watched tokens.

would you please take a look at the wallet Dev Console? Develop > open developer tools > Ethereum Wallet, on the Console tab, and send me the error?

@evertonfraga I opened the Wallet, added Tokens to watch, closed Ethereum Wallet and reopened it. This is how it looks now.

Thanks! I'll have a thorough look into this issue. On preliminar tests here I don't get these errors.

Is 0.9.0 the first Mist version, or did you upgrade it from an older version?

I had this issue when upgrading the older version
Ethereum-Wallet-macosx-0-8-10.dmg

(0-8-10 is working fine)

Yeah, it used to save my contracts and my 'watched tokens.' Now I have to reload them each time I re-open Ethereum Wallet. See attached for when I've added my contract, and after...it adds no problem, but I didn't have to do that before.

That's one solution...is there a plan to keep contract info saved in future versions of Ethereum Wallet?

Would you help me debug that?

What version does it show on your DevTools?

@evertonfraga I upgraded from 0.8.10 and am experiencing this bug too. This is on OS X running geth --light for the node.

Here is the version as requested:

ethereum_wallet

and the minimongo info:

)

FYI I originally reported this on #2830

@jagottsicher

exactly same issue here on two computers (windows 10, 64bit and Mint/Ubuntu).
Working with testnet Ropsten. this issue makes it really hard to develop more contracts :-/

Is there any other solution than "Stick to 0.8.10"?

@sirnicolas21

same here, i also lost "wallet contacts" and i cannot add them because the application says "once you have more than 1 ether"

Temporary solution: please use version 0.8.10, and your data will show up.

We're working on a fix for this. Sorry for the trouble.

@evertonfraga Maybe you can take a look in #844 if that helps. This is really annoying. Today I've noticed that I am not getting the multi-sig requests - might be connected. I will need to go back to 0.8.10 - hoped that this will be resolved earlier, but now it took more than a month :(

Same issue after update for me as well after update to v 9.1

Please fix this bug ASAP as it depreciates a great Ethereum platform to ordinary coocoo-land. Sad that v. 9.1 did not fix this, when everyone knows it is a BIG PROBLEM.

Please bring back our ERC20 tokens. They are on the blockchain, but not in the f..... wallet.

@BigBearB

Dear Evertonfraga,

You are a genius. Please, please, please make the wallet work for ERC20 without us having to use v. 8.10.
Please ?

Now I kept 8.10 already for a long time and tried 9.1 temporarly, but had to downgrade to 8.1 again! Sucks!
Finally 9.2 is out and shows exactly the same issue, which makes me think that really nobody cares, because I had that issue already since 4th August!

Really it is hard to develop contracts properly while fighting to switch through different wallets on varied computers! Issues like this are an anchor to innovation.

Obviously this is a problem of recognizing contracts (and so wallets) while the main account works fine. Is there no way of preparingin some "converter" I am willing to provide all needed files from my win10/64bit-system.

@BigBearB
Copy link

It has been a problem in previous wallets at the 6 or 7 level, but was fixed on 8.10. Very strange that they issue new wallets after 8.10 that create this problem again. Main interesting feature of Ethereum platform is ERC20 tokens. If the wallet can not show, remember and transfer ERC20 tokens, it is not a wallet, it is a piece of crap.

@BigBearB
Copy link

In my humble opinion.
It is a wallet, but a wallet without anything more interesting than any other coin system.

@BigBearB
Copy link

Please bring back ERC20 functionality again :)

@domibarton
Copy link

Shouldn't you avoid downgrades now, after the Byzantium fork?

@jagottsicher
Copy link

Of course you had to avoid downgrades, but after any upgrade from 0.8.10 the contracts are gone from the wallet, so what else can you do, but stick to it? I can not create 100 contracts new, because the wallet does not let them show up anymore.

This issue was never fixed since I started using ethereum wallet months ago, it was not much of a problem since there were few very ICOs, but now with 20+ participating projects, re-adding the custom tokens take forever! Please fix this fundamental error ASAP.

@xandrrix

Any ETA on fix on this? This have eyes on it? Am I somehow wrong in thinking this is a huge bug that has gone unfixed for months now? Just updated to 9.3 and problem is still present.

@sirnicolas21

this bug actually renders the new wallet versions useless, i don't see why they release updates without this.

Temporay solution:

  1. shutdown Ethereum Wallet
  2. find IndexDB path, on Mac OSX, it is $HOME/Library/Application Support/Ethereum Wallet
  3. mv "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Ethereum Wallet" EthereumWalletBak
  4. run Ethereum Wallet, it's OK!

@staticfrost "%APPDATA%\Ethereum Wallet"

Or C:\Users[yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\Ethereum Wallet

I had the same issue with 0.9.3 - closed the app, moved the above directory and reopened the app, readded my contracts and now they persist after closures
