US Crime Map Application

This map shows the total crime index in the U.S. in 2022, by state, county, ZIP Code, tract, and block group. Please note that an ArcGIS Online subscription is required to access this map.

Important Note: This item is in mature support as of June 2023 and will be retired in December 2025.

Map Overview

This map provides a comprehensive view of the total crime index in the United States for the year 2022. It is displayed in a multi-scale format, allowing you to explore the data at various geographic levels, including by state, county, ZIP Code, tract, and block group. The geographical boundaries are based on the 2020 Census.

Pop-up Information

The map pop-up is configured to include the following information for each geography level:

• Total crime index
• Personal and property crime indices
• Sub-categories of personal and property crime indices

The permitted use of this data is covered in the DATA section of the EsriMaster Agreement (E204CW) and these supplemental terms.

How to Use

To access and use this map, you will need an ArcGIS Online subscription. Here are the steps to get started:

1. Prerequisites: Ensure you have an active ArcGIS Online subscription.

2. Access the Map: Click on the following link to access the map: US Crime Map.

3. Log In: You will be prompted to log in using your ArcGIS Online account. If you don't have one, you will need to sign up for a subscription.

4. Explore the Map: Once logged in, you can explore the map at various geographic levels, view crime indices, and access additional information.
