Along with https://github.com/europeana/Europeana-Patternlab/releases/tag/v1.3.7

Changed in this release:

  • Removes the minimap from the IIIF viewer for performance reasons as it resulted in loading each IIIF manifest twice.

Fixed in this release:

  • Fixes an issue with IIIF fulltext highlighting not disappearing when switching between pages.
  • Fixes an issue with the IIIF viewer sometimes failing to load some tiles when switching to a new page.
  • Fixes an issue with IIIF fulltext and displaying of the download button.
  • Hides webResources for europeana newspaper pages which all refer to the same newspaper displayed in the IIIF viewer. Thereby removing the redundant and non-functional item carousel.
  • Look in all metadata for parent item relationships for displaying the parent item promo card on item pages. Previously only the first was checked. This change will make more parent item promo cards available.

New in this release:

  • When viewing a multi-page IIIF document, the page one is viewing is reflected in the URL, meaning that bookmarking or sharing this URL will link to that specific page.
  • We have added a benchmarking tool for testing that code changes perform well. For instruction on its usage, see the README.

    • NB: this is disabled by default and not yet enabled in Europeana Collections

Changed in this release:

New in this release:

  • Images representing individual pages of IIIF documents may now be downloaded from their item page

Changed in this release:

  • On a search of the Newspapers collection, one may specify to search for issues from a single date, instead of a date range
  • Following the link to the data provider's website from item pages opens it in a new tab instead of the current one
  • Links to Google+ have been removed as the service faces imminent shutdown
  • Removed the logo for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 from the footer, because it's 2019

Fixed in this release:

  • Where a data provider's logo is shown on item pages, but no link to their website is available, do not show a non-functioning link, just show the logo

This release:

  • Adds the media bar on the item page to elements even when some options like expanding the media are not available. This is in order to keep the UI consistent and allow users to still have quick access to the share and direct link functionality in the same place as for other items.
  • For image type items the media bar will show magnifying glass icons instead of the expand/collapse icons it showed previously.
  • Some new translations were added/updated.
