This has been reported/requested several times, but I thought I would document it too.
People would like to simplify the ticket editor UI by archiving tickets so they can't be seen after the sale date passes. Being able to archive a ticket would help keep the UI cleaner for events with lots of ticket options and it might make the UI more performant.
Here is a recommendation for the UI based on how Trello handles completed checkmark items. In our case, we could have people click a box to Archive a ticket that is not actively being sold. The checked-boxes would then be considered Archived and hidden when people change the view to hide the Archived tickets.
