Raptor is a cross platform chess interface and pgn viewer for the free internet chess server: FICS.
The Raptor repository has been moved to GitHub from Google Code due to the upcoming shutdown of Google Code.
The move is not complete: some data could not be moved and moving some other data, mostly documentation and wiki pages, is still a work in progress.
Large binary files (and their history) have been removed from the repository but otherwise, most files and their history are part of the new repository.
In order to remediate another problem with the project, creating new installers, a change in the way Raptor is built has been implemented. Raptor now uses a new build process: Maven. Some provisional build instructions can be found on the "release" pages on GitHub.
One advantage of that build mechanism is that the result is just one big (fat) jar that can be used without installing any other dependencies.
From now on, the version at Google Code should be considered read-only: new changes will only go to the GitHub version.
Note that the issues list has not been moved. If you think it sufficiently important to keep the current issues list, please discuss that topic on the Google Code website in issue #805
Check the releases page on Github to find the latest versions. For the time being, pre-built versions (NOT installers!) will be provided for 64-bit platforms of Windows, Linux and MacOSX. Also note that the minimum required version of Java is still version 6.
- "=tells CDay" Will list all of the tells sent to you by CDay since you were logged in. (Also works with channels)
- Right clicking o a chess board brings up a tab for the game with all kibs and whispers.
- Double clicking on a tab header maximizes it. Double clicking again restores it.
- File -> Open PGN file will open a pgn file containing all of the variants http://ficsgames.com ficsgames.com supports.
- "clear censor" will clear all of the handles in your fics censor list.
- "fen" will dump FENs for all the open chess boards.
- "cls" will clear a chat console.
