Context

It would be helpful if our Renovate (and Dependabot, in some of our other repositories) configurations created commits that followed the Conventional Changelog specificiation, because we will eventually need to update the commit messages once issue #1503 is implemented.

Proposal

Update our dependency renovation bot commits to use Conventional Commit format.

  • change the commit prefixes from [chore] to chore:
  • update any existing automation to accomodate this change (regexes, etc.)
