docs: gitlab URL == base URL of the installation #28

The documentation should highlight that the gitlab URL is the base URL of the gitlab installation, not the URL of a projects directory.

Right now, it is all too tempting to use https://gitlab.example.com/base/with/stuff instead of https://gitlab.example.com

I had to remember how the Gitlab REST API works to have things click into place.
