Wifi throw/Angle meter usage

Description

The ESP module works as a AP (Access Point), you simply need to connect to the sensor using a device with Wifi network and a browser. (Tablet, phone, laptop...)

First ESP sensor powered is configured as AP and second sensor (if any) remains automatically connected to first sensor.

If configured, ESP can also connect to the local network as a Wifi client and other devices from network can display data.

Data tab

This tab show the data from sensor(s):

  • Angle
  • Throw
  • Min / Max values recorded while measuring.

Here the user can define chord dimensions and min/max limits for visual alarm in red.

The axis for measurement (X, Y or Z) can be set to match a specific configuration.

Calibrations tab

MMA8452 sensor is a cheap accelerometer sensor: while rotating from level to -90° or 90° degrees a error around 1.5° is common. Fine calibration allow to reduce error around 0.3°.

In this example the Y axis is pointing down and show a value around +1g with a steady sensor, same Y axis will show a value around -1g after be rotated on the other side (pointing up), if not, try adjusting the offset using the slider. Others axis (X, Z) shows values around 0g. For current measuring around the X axis, only the "g" data from Y axis and Z axis is used for angle computation.
