Factom Interoperability Specifications (FIS)
This is the central location for collaboration on data and interoperability specifications for parties working with and implementing on top of the Factom ® Protocol. The intention is not to force people to implement solutions. Instead, it is to formalise specifications that implementors can adhere to when building on the Factom ® Protocol in order to encourage ecosystem interoperability.
How Does FIS Work?
See FIS-X, the initial standard that defines the FIS process.
What is the relationship to the Factom Improvment Proposals (FIP)?
FIPs govern proposed changes and improvements for the Factom ® Protocol, APIs, core software and native language drivers. FIS, however, governs proposals, changes and improvements to 2nd layer specifications that software and data on top of the Factom ® Protocol can use.

FIS-X is the initial standard that describes the core framework, conventions and guidelines for creating a FIS submission. Create your submission in a markdown file following the guidelines defined in FIS-X and the FIS Template
To submit your specification, fork this repo and then submit a pull request to have it reviewed and included for evaluation by the community.
