One day I was tired of sending boring e-mails over and over. Since I always liked the idea of the fortune program and the message-of-the-day (MOTD) service found on UNIX-like systems, I decided to write a very simple script for printing such a message in the signature of my e-mails. I believe that such messages can have good influence to people: Sometimes they are entertaining and can make you laugh, whilst other times they are educational and you can learn a lot from them. This is how I ended up with the quote program.
