Resolution troubles

So.. putting aside the dpi problems I pointed out in #48
For some reason tied to resolution (something with the aspect ratio maybe?) the second column of buttons on the right can get cut in the middle on some systems.
For example 1280x758 pixels has everything in place. 1280x759 too. Use 1280x760 and kaput.

Moreover, even though (when using a high resolution) the smallest window I can get is 1017x727 pixels, with everything perfectly working.. If I switch the display to 1024x768 buttons don't even show up.
EDIT: on the other hand 895x675 resolution is fine??

Well.. Can't have the second column broken if you don't have it to begin with.
So even though #194 suggests me nothing changed much about UI rendering, happy now everything at least appears smooth.
