Is Varnish in the front a requirement, or can one use the Fastly CDN service without Varnish? (i.e running Fastly directly together with Apache)

At Fastly we run our CDN using a customised version of Varnish, so you don't need your own varnish in front of apache. You can just use Fastly in front and you should be set.
