handle socket.io when testing realtime api

hi,
I am trying to write e2e test for real time app (without browser). I use feathers with socket.io .
and I want to make calls from the client to the server and listen to standard events (created, ..) or custom ones and make expectations . all of this while using the generated client with feathers app src/client.ts.

my tech stack is:

• node v18.18
• feathersjs v5.0.11
• vitest (testing framework)

when I write all the code I need as

the testing util will get timeout after some time.

Question

• how to handle socket.io with feathers when writing tests ?
• and how to handle app & client socket shutdown when testing ?
