Hi,

It is possible to use Redis as an embedded DB instead of having to install it 
as a server on the target machine?

Hi,

Unfortunately Redis is only available as a network server for the time being. A 
few people have been asking for an embedded version of Redis but at the moment 
there does not look like any plans for this. You should put in a feature 
request at the redis project:
http://code.google.com/p/redis/
