Overview

Discovery exercise to understand the Trader user personas within financial services that would be a user of FDC3.

Below is a high level grouping which then allows for specific actions to be drilled down into.

Detail

For trading there are generally 3 main stages ( not-exhaustive list but a good start) :
1. Pre – Trade

• Risk Assessment
• Analytics ( PnL, Flows, Vols etc)
• Client/Counterparty Lookup
• Charting / History Lookup
• News
• Liquidity Checks
• Flows Monitoring
• PNL analysis

2. Trade Execution

• Electronic comms
• Chat interaction
• Phone interaction
• Trade automation
• Trade Confirmation / Notifications

3. Post trade

• Position / Risk management
• Hedge
• Compliance
• Historical Analysis
• Status monitoring
• Rolls
• Settlement
• Reconciliation
• Reporting

For each stage, traders generally need to interact with and exchange data between multiple apps / systems for every sub point above.

• Is it a Context linking use case or is it an Intent use case typically?
• What Intent would you use? What's the natural Context?

By running through the above we can quickly identify where the gaps are.
