How deep can the parent recursion be? Is there a limit in theory or in practice? Or could I potentially do something like myDocumentReference.parent.parent.parent.parent.parent if I had a collection structure to accommodate this?
Is it possible to have a circular reference here? For example, a DocumentReference.parent refers to a CollectionReference, which in turn its parent property refers to the aforementioned DocumentReference.

A CollectionReference has a parent property that can point to a DocumentReference (or be null), which in turn has a parent property that always points to a CollectionReference.
I have 2 questions:
myDocumentReference.parent.parent.parent.parent.parent
if I had a collection structure to accommodate this?Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
