When I run the attached with the current release of FDS 6 (both windows and linux) and the Smokeview just released (6.6.3), the cell centered slice isn't appearing in the load menu. If I go to the vector menu and select show all, the file will appear there as a cell centered slice and is rendered correctly so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the slice file data.

I'll take a look at it

This appears to be an issue with the quantity "u-velocity",
if you set "VELOCITY" instead you will see it without having to set it from the menu.

I thought we could do components as cell_centered without having to do vectors, maybe not. With vectors I see the slice data, but I can't completely turn off the vectors (I can make them small and set skip higher)..

this is a smokeview bug. you should be able to see this in the menus. I'm looking at it now.

should be fixed in smokeview posted here

if you had something like
&SLCF QUANTITY='TEMPERATURE',VECTOR='TRUE' /
smokeview had logic to only display in the menus the temperature slice file but not the U, V or W slice files even though they were also present. (the rational was you only asked for a temperature slice ). The flaw in this strategy is your test case. what if you only asked for a U-VEL slice file? I decided to remove this "feature". The added benefit is the code is now a little meaner and leaner.

I see it in the menu now and it is loading. Thanks.
