🐞 Problem

Couldn't help noticing there are several pull requests with no conflicts. To my understanding, they are pass some kind of merge test. Was wondering if this repo might need some help with more maintainers to help reduce the workload.

Hi @bellsofaba, thanks for reaching out! Here’s a simplified explanation of our PR merge process:

• Merges happen only if Contributors.md is modified.
• We allow just one change. If a line is replaced, it’s seen as two changes by Git - 1 addition, 1 deletion and 2 changes
  • PR where line replaced (e.g PR) : https://github.com/Esh07/first-contributions/pull/196/files
  • Look for additions, deletions and changes properties in APIs response : https://api.github.com/repos/esh07/first-contributions/pulls/196/files
• Changing more than one line isn’t allowed.
• If there are conflicts with the base branch, the merge won’t happen.
• If a PR changes more than one file, the script pauses the merge and waits for a review.

We limit changes to prevent future merge conflicts. You can learn more about this in issue:

You might have noticed that some PRs pass checks but aren’t merged. This is because our script currently passes PRs silently without informing users of any issues. This usually happens when a line is replaced.

But don’t worry, we’re working on it! A pending PR will fix this issue:
