fish, version 3.4.1

Some fish projects are reluctant to use the very common sort command. They would prefer if fish had a built-in sort command instead, to sort e.g. an array of strings.

Is this an acceptable feature request?

Fixed by #8958, which features path sort, so you can sort paths - which can also be arbitrary strings.
