Never locking threads

Is it possible to open thread via API/as a bot?

If so, we could have open threads for unlimited time if we periodically checked whether the thread is closed and if so, we open them.

We could mark such threads with a specific emoji, so everybody would be able to create such thread.

We should also think about some way to limit this. Unlike pins, there is unlimited amount of active threads there can be in one channel and unlike pins, people don't have to vote about keeping channels open, they would just place something in the thread name... That sounds easy to abuse.
