I don't usually consider text on the web hard to read, but I had issues with the readability of the articles in this series. It seems that the combination of the thin font weight of 300 of the body text with a color of #4d4d4d (contrast ratio of 8.45:1, not too bad actually) is the reason. Anecdotally, increasing font weight improved the readability more for me than darkening the color.

Do you encounter the same readability issues in dark mode?
Which browser are you using? (for some reason, some bundle a very thin Helvetica Neue font).
Is this issue only present on a MacBook Pro 14" screen?
