Currently we have https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/fluent-plugin-google-cloud for google cloud logging but It would be great if there was a fluent-bit plugin that could do the same

Would be nice indeed. I spent some time configuring fluentd for stackirver only to find out it doesn't work with on-premise installations, was hoping perhaps fluent-bit would have the right integration.

Currently, I want to connect a custom kubernetes cluster to Google Stackdriver logs and am not looking forward to configure fluentd and would love to see this in fluentbit. I'm not afraid of writing C code.

Note: it does not lookup for resources metadata, it only uses resources global.
