This patch started out as work to fix #410 but the underlying bug looks like it was fixed in a recent patch to main. After failing multiple times to rebase with the latest changes to main, I opted to create this new branch and replay my previous commits by hand, but I don't see the behavior described in #410 any more.
The changes here are mostly removing unused code and one unused namespace (
fluree.db.operations), and consolidating the code to update database novelty to one function.
