LESS SLINGLOAD VOICE ASSISTANCE (ENGLISH-ONLY)

When slingloading external cargo, there is a voice assistant that constantly provides situational awareness. This mod allows you to mute any/all of those sound bites.
ADDITIONALLY, the default language for USSR has been changed to NATO. I have not tested the effects of this change in ANY other aircraft besides the Mi-8. So this might cause unforeseen speech audio bugs in other Russian aircraft.

The following are sounds you will STILL HEAR:

left
right
forward
back
above (up)
below (down)
meter (left/right/forward/back meter)
above_cargo (in position)
lock_closed (you are hooked)
rope_was_taut (the line is tight)
ten_to_ground
three_to_ground
cargo_ground_reset (on the ground, release)

The following sounds have been MUTED:

cargo_ropes_normal (load is hanging steady, take it away)
cargo_ropes_normal_2 (load is hanging steady)
transverse_swing (the load is swinging side to side)
longitudinal_swing (the load is swinging fore and aft)
taut_of_rope (take tension)
meter_ground (load is 1m off the ground)
three_ground (3m off the ground)
one_to_ground
twenty_to_ground
fifteen_ground
two
three
five
ten
fifteen
twenty
thirty
fifty
sixty
one_hundred
one_hundred_and_fifty

This mod is easily customizable...

MUTING A SOUND:
Comment (--add 2 dashes to beginning) the sounds you want muted in
/Less-Slingload-Voice-Assist/Scripts/Speech/common_events.lua

UNMUTING A SOUND:
Uncomment (remove 2 dashes -- from line) the sounds you want unmuted in
/Less-Slingload-Voice-Assist/Scripts/Speech/common_events.lua

NOTE: If you want the Russian voice for Russian aircraft,
use the other mod, LESS SLINGLOAD VOICE ASSIST

CHANGELOG:

2.0 - No sound files included, ED has encrypted and moved them. Now there is just a lua file where you can comment & uncomment the sound bites you dont/want. Additionally, instead of manually cross-mapping Mi-8 sounds to English sound files, A single line is edited in speech.lua that assigns all USSR sounds to NATO language sound files. Note: This is effective for getting English cargo notifications in the Mi-8, however it has not been tested for compatibility with other Russian aircraft.

MUTING A SOUND:

  1. IDENTIFY the file name of the sound you want muted in
    /External Cargo Voice Assist Mod/.../ENG/.../_ORIGINALS
  2. COPY the file in
    /External Cargo Voice Assist Mod/.../ENG/.../_BLANK/
    to
    /External Cargo Voice Assist Mod/.../ENG/.../Messages
  3. Rename the copied file to the file name identified in step 1
  4. Repeat this process for the /RUS/ directory,
    choose 'yes' for any overwrite actions

UNMUTING A SOUND:

  1. IDENTIFY the file name of the sound you want UN-muted in
    /External Cargo Voice Assist Mod/.../ENG/.../_ORIGINALS
  2. COPY that file from
    /External Cargo Voice Assist Mod/.../ENG/.../_ORIGINALS
    to
    /External Cargo Voice Assist Mod/.../RUS/.../Messages
  3. DELETE that file from
    /External Cargo Voice Assist Mod/.../ENG/.../Messages

NOTE: If you want the Russian voice for Russian aircraft,
use the other mod, LESS SLINGLOAD VOICE ASSIST
