counting messages

Hi,

is there a method to count number of the messages in the queue via 'a' or this rather should be done with the JMX api or http layer on top of JMX api.

I would love that feature as well, but the JMS API does not allow it. And yes, to do it - it will require a JMX or Jolokia/HTTP connection to figure out (unless you browse all messages and count them, but that has multiple limitations as well). The Jolokia call could be used with cURL or some other tool so there is no real need to include it in A.
