The title really says it all. I shouldn't have to switch between CID subfonts to use Metrics View because what if I want to see two glyphs from different subfonts together? That would be how it would display in other software, so should work in FontForge—no?
The main problem as far as I can tell in both #3942 and #3944 is that FontForge's Metrics View searches for glyphs in a fashion that's too narrow for CID-keyed fonts. If we want to support CID-keyed fonts well, we ought to fix this.
