If I enable the setting File > Preferences > Navigation > GlyphAutoGoto, hotkeys Esc and Del no longer work. Expected behavior:

  • In glyph view: Del should delete the selected points and Esc should unselect. (As a workaround, I have found out that I can press Backspace to delete points.)
  • In metrics view: Esc should unselect the selected glyph.

FontForge version: all 2019 versions.
Operating system: Windows 7 and 10.

I was able to confirm this issue, but further discussion is needed.

It seems a natural consequence of this feature that shortcuts that consist of a single character will not work with it enabled. The tooltip even warns that the ` shortcut, which enables the «Preview», will not work.

In some fonts, Delete (U+007F) is actually mapped to a glyph. Silly? Maybe, but Unifont does it.

I opened it with this feature enabled and it doesn't work though, so perhaps traditionally non-printable character codes should not be made to work.
