Groups: Strategic Goals and Milestones

Goals

  • Support and make visible the different types of groups FORCE11 has: Working Groups, Committees.
  • Implement an efficient technical systems for groups - old and new systems are not adequate for requirements
  • Reward and show off the work of groups, and group members
  • Make a plan for groups

Milestones

  • Support groups committee, establish close working
  • Create plan for groups for web and groups committee functioning
  • Implement better technical system
  • Have an evaluation framework for work on supporting groups

  • Read the important detail of the group
  • Click - request to join group
  • Receive email permission to join group
  • Carry out group posting: blog, event, google group, post
  • Get noticed in FORCE11 members area as being an active group member by a blog post being listed by your name and receive positive rewards.

Messaging

  • Ensure join button clearly visible
  • Make sure existing members are clearly labelled as being members of a group
  • Make sure group members have postings to group listed on members area and on their profiles
  • Show Group icon next to any post types being made by members (blog, post, events)
  • Make sure group page shows information a participant would need to see
  • Promotional ads around site give message that there are groups and open to members: promos on home page, featured promo ads on content around the site

  • Find out about FORCE11 groups on Google from well written meta description and title on a Google search result
  • Discover groups from homepage: featured groups content
  • Browse other groups on the groups landing page
  • Read a specific groups
  • Watch a presentation video from FSCI by a group member

Messaging

  • Make sure FORCE11 Groups are described on homepage, and several pages and content cards around the site so that SEO picks up the groups
  • Make sure groups work external to the site are listed on the site
  • Make sure all required group information is listed on the group landing page

UX

The UX part would be actions decided to be carried out based on persona needs.

UX can be seen in the work packages that get put together in wiki Projects Page TBC.

Monitoring and evaluation

  • There isn't much accessible monitoring and evaluation information easily available. What information is available would need to be organised into an easy to use format.
  • A new monitoring and evaluation process and information recoding setup needs putting in place.
  • CiviCRM can be used to more easily record members parcipipation as well as other activities.
  • Goals and milestones cn be put in place for groups development.
  • Actively rewarding groups activities can also be evaluated for its merits and benefits.
