CNIP

test if an IP belongs to mainland China

Currently only IPv4 addresses are supported.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'cnip'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install cnip

Usage

CNIP.include?('1.0.1.0')
# => true

CNIP.include?('8.8.8.8')
# => false

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release to create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.

To update chnroute.txt, run

curl 'http://ftp.apnic.net/apnic/stats/apnic/delegated-apnic-latest' | grep ipv4 | grep CN | awk -F\| '{ printf("%s/%d\n", $4, 32-log($5)/log(2)) }' > data/chnroute.txt

To update usroute.txt, run

curl 'http://ftp.arin.net/pub/stats/arin/delegated-arin-extended-latest' | grep ipv4 | grep US | awk -F\| '{ printf("%s/%d\n", $4, 32-log($5)/log(2)) }' > data/usroute.txt
