I like the idea of having an inspector tooltip, with inception like navigation, to quickly navigate through nodes without having to leave the current place at the map.
This would be useful, for example, to inspect a connector, and see what is the node on the other side of it. MapInsight Add-on does something like that, but I want a tolltip that shows up when hovering the connector on the map.
Another place is in search results, like the list on Search And Replace and Jumper Add-on, so the user can inspect the results of the list. And there is this request to inspect links to another nodes: #1224
So, I created a first version of it for the UtilitaryPanels script:
It shows the node core of the node, and the list of ancestors, siblings and children. As in the UtilitaryPanels list, clicking in an item navigates to it on the map, and it's possible to pin it, by right clicking.
There is also the inception stlye navigation, allowing to inspect the lists of the first inspector, opening a second inspector. But it is still limited to 2 levels of inspecting, because I need to think a practical way of calculating the positions of each new inspector:
So, I will play with the format, trying to come up with a tooltip format that is practical and useful for daily like and can be used in other situations, like to inspect connectors and internal links.
