Cookie Consent

The most popular solution to the EU cookie law for Rails applications. Cookie Consent is a free JavaScript plugin for alerting users about the use of cookies on your website. For more information visit: https://cookieconsent.insites.com

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'cookieconsent'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install cookieconsent

Run the installation generator:

$ bundle exec rails g cookieconsent:install

Or manually add in application.js:

//= require cookieconsent

And in application.css:

*= require cookieconsent

Usage

Add js snippet to your views/layouts/application.html.erb file before </head>

Select theme

Theme layouts are: "classic"; "edgeless"; block by default and no need to add theme.

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
