Mod not working

I'm playing on MC 1.16.5 w/ forge 36.1.0 and mod version 1.8.157 (also had the same issue on v1.8.156).

I can toggle shaped mining in game and even see the outline based on my selection, but no matter what I do it will not "excavate" anything. Only one block at a time. I've changed the setting to always, sneak, key. It doesn't matter. I've tried this in single player as well as my personal dedicated server and it doesn't work in either situation.

I've included the two config files based on my current preferences, also tried using them as they were created without any changes. I did notice though that the [Exhaustion] option in the common config is misspelled (it's spelled "ehxaustion"), not sure if that has any affect as to why the mod isn't working?

I dont have any other mods installed that affect mining. The closest thing is a mod called "large ore deposits" is installed.

Are you aware that you have an experience (XP) requirement enabled of 100 units per block?

PS: I thought I fixed that typo but I guess not

I misunderstood the XP variable to mean how much XP is gained from excavating, not how much is required, so I put it back to 0 and it works just fine now.

i have the same problem but the experience level is set to 0
