When running version 1.3.3 jar the program does start fine, but I can't open a file, because the menu File > Open.. does not respond.

I am also disapointed by this. However, the workaround is to drag and drop the .knobman file to address the issue.

Wish there was at least SOME basic documentation as how to improve this project.

Thanks! Indeed dropping a file into the startup window does load the file.

Happy my input could be helpful. Hope it can be for others as well.

This project deserves as update or to at least be ported to a modern and stable cross-platform dev environment for easy builds. If the developer would update to include more information or get in contact. Id be happy to contribute but sadly there is no clear start point.

I did notice the author did release v1.3.3 on december 8, 2020, so fairly recent, but not sure if that release did improve the application. Anyway it runs fine on my Mac and also on Windows (virtual on my Mac), so if needed I can switch, and so far it has served my purposes. I'm only a half baked developer :-), so of no use to you or this specific program, sorry!
