Problems with "System Messages" in newest Gantry and Helium Template #1962

When I add the "System Messages" Particle to my Layout's the User that have necessary Rights to accesses a specific Site get the error Message "You don't have rights to accesses this site" but the User can normaly use the Site.

For a example:
I have created a Link in Navigation named "Edit User Profile" this Link is logically only visible to Loged In Users. When a User Log In and click on Edit User Profile then he gets the error Message "You don't have accesses..." but the User can normaly edit his Profile and Save this. When the User refresh the Site the Error is gone. I have temporary deactiveted the System Messages Particle, but this is not a good Idea. Now the Users don't see any Messages such as Login failures or other realy Errors.

I using Ganty 5.4.11 with Helium Template and on Joomla 3.6.5
I have Cleared Gantry Cache Joomla Cache my own Browser Cache but anything help me to slove this error. Google Search don't help me.

Tested with:
Firefox 52,0.2 (32-Bit) - Newes Version
Google Chrome 57.0.2987.133 (64-bit) - Newes Version

Is this a bug in Gantry 5 or Helium?

System messages come from Joomla, not from Gantry, and are generally shown in the next refresh of the page (with a caveat). Make sure that the system messages particle is enabled in all your outlines, otherwise the message gets shown not the page where it is missing, but the next one where it is present.

I know taht the System Messages come from Joomla itself, but in standart Templates for example Protostar i don't have this proble. The particle is Shown in all Outlines.

Here a Screeshot from fresh Installed Gantry Demo Version. Installed via Rocket Launcher in newest version.

As you can see the Error is shown, but I can edit my Profile normaly. Have you any another Idea how to fix this problem?

Maybe add redirect on login? I'm not sure why this would happen as Gantry just handles the theme and doesn't have any logic attached to this.

I don't have any redirect to any pages and login. I'am only have a Link in Navigation in the Header. It seems as this is a bug with the Helium Template? Can this be?

I am not able to reproduce this issue. Maybe there's something in your configuration causing this?

Hello.

Sorry for my late response. If you want to reproduce this issue, download the newest Helium Rocket Launcher and turn on the URL Rewirting as you can see on this picture:
g5_demo_01

Rename the htaccess.txt to .htaccess and last create a new User Menu visible onyli for Regisred or Super User Group. I don't have any plugins or something else installed on the Gantry Rocket Launcher Demo Site.

Now, I have tested it without to configure a HTTPS Connection and without to turn on the Rewirte Mod. I thought it was cause this error but this has no effect i get the same problem as i have.

Hi,

you did not mention where you created the menu item 'Edit User Profile'.
Also, did you add it to your main menu or a new menu that you created?

So far I am not able to replicate your issue, but will keep trying.

Hi kat05,

i don't know why you can replicate this issue. I have tested it with and without RocetLauncher from Oficial Gantry Site on PHP 7.0.13 and PHP 5.5.9-1 the PHP 7.0.13 version is on a Shared Hosting and the PHP 5.5.9.1 is on my own vServer.

I have creadted the Menus with the Default Joomla Menu Manager in the Main Menu and i have testet it with a new Menu.

To be honest I don't know how to get rid of the issue and how I cannot reproduce it. I believe that the error happens before but gets delayed because of the previous page where the error happened didn't show the message. Joomla stores the system messages until a page that shows them gets shown.

Ok, looks like the particle for showing up the message is missing from a few presets at least.

I added it both to Default and Offline layouts in Helium.

@Posmatrac You need to manually add the particle to your existing outlines.
